Fighting For LGBT Rights
Will has been a tireless advocate of equal treatment under the law for all Illinoisans regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. He was honored by Chicago's leading LGBT publication, the Windy City Times, with its 30 Under 30 award in 2012 for bringing the marriage debate to the forefront of his campaign that year. He will continue to fight unyieldingly until full equality is a reality in Illinois.
As State Representative, Will Guzzardi:
• Partnered with Equality Illinois to pass landmark legislation encouraging LGBTQ Illinoisans to participate in civic life
• Has supported measures banning workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or identity
• Was a co-sponsor of the bill to make it easier for transgender Illinoisans to receive accurate birth certificates
