Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe

All Illinoisans deserve to feel safe and secure in the communities we live in. That requires a holistic approach to the problems of violence and instability that affect many of our neighborhoods. We need to contemplate those challenges not only through the lens of enforcement, but also through a restorative lens that seeks to make individuals and communities whole. 

As State Representative, Will Guzzardi:

• Has co-sponsored numerous initiatives to reform our criminal justice system to help formerly incarcerated people re-integrate in their communities
• Led the fight to reform civil asset forfeiture, a practice that has been abused in a way that hurts private citizens and degrades trust in law enforcement
• Regularly attends CAPS and other community meetings in his district to help build positive and healthy relationships around questions of public safety
